Ratification votes took place this week, and unionized employees have voted in favour of the new three-year agreement effective April 1, 2017.
"The ratification of the collective bargaining agreement is excellent news for our employees, our business and most importantly, our customers," said John Macdonald, President and Chief Executive Officer of Enercare. "Negotiating a Collective Agreement is never a simple process, however, both bargaining committees were absolutely committed to reaching an agreement and finding creative solutions that support our customers' needs while ensuring our continued shared success," said Macdonald.
As part of the agreement, Enercare's unionized workforce will recognize a general wage increase as follows:
- Year 1 – 2.0%
